Optical brightener CBS-127 (OBA 378)

Description & Specification

Optical brightener CBS-127 (OBA 378) is a fluorescent whitening agent used as an optical brightener for various plastics and polymer coatings. Most effective in PVC systems and polystyrene.

Properties:

• used to add brightness to the entire spectrum of colors to plastics
• provides a bright lighting effect with a blue tint and high light resistance

Application method

Thermoplastics are introduced at any stage of production.

For introduction into a liquid coating (paint, varnish), the most common way of using CBS-127 (FP) is its preliminary dissolution (see the solubility table in the quality certificate) and subsequent mixing with the main composition at the final stage of preparation.

For water-bearing coatings, it is necessary to pre-introduce the additive into the appropriate solvent and add the resulting solution to the film-forming substance before mixing with water.

There is also a method of dry mixing (or grinding) CBS-127 (FP) with white pigment, which is acceptable both in the production of plastics and lacquers.
